Senior Fibre Engineer
Position Overview:
As a Senior Fibre Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of fibre-optic communication networks. Leveraging your expertise in fibre-optic technology, network architecture, and project management, you will lead the planning, deployment, and optimization of fibre-optic infrastructure to ensure highspeed and reliable connectivity for both internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will encompass technical leadership, project management, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Fibre Network Design:
Develop comprehensive fibre-optic network designs that align with project requirements and industry best practices. Determine optimal fibre routes, equipment placement, and splicing points to achieve maximum network efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with network planners and architects to integrate fibre designs into larger network architectures.
Project Management:
Lead and oversee end-to-end fibre-optic network deployment projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards. Create project schedules, allocate resources, and manage project risks to achieve project milestones. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
Installation and Testing:
Supervise the installation of fibre-optic cables, connectors, and related equipment. Conduct comprehensive testing and quality assurance procedures, including OTDR testing, insertion loss measurements, and other relevant tests. Identify and resolve any installation or testing issues, ensuring optimal network performance.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Diagnose and resolve complex fibre-optic network issues, working closely with technical teams and vendors. Implement maintenance and upgrade plans to enhance network reliability and performance. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend network enhancements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of fibre network designs, configurations, and changes. Generate regular reports on project progress, network performance, and maintenance activities for management and stakeholders. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, IT, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration and support of fibre-optic infrastructure. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in designing, deploying, and maintaining fibre-optic communication networks. Profound Knowledge of fibre-optic technologies, standards, and industry best practices. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Familiarity with network planning and design tools, such as GIS software and network modelling tools. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting. Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFHP, CFOT, RCDD) are a plus. Planning Engineer - MEP
Position Overview:
As a Planning Engineer with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) experience, you will be a vital part of our construction and engineering team, responsible for ensuring effective project planning, scheduling, and coordination of MEP systems within complex building projects. Leveraging your expertise in MEP systems and project management, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing project timelines, resource allocation, and communication to ensure the successful execution of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules for MEP systems, considering all phases of the construction process from design to commissioning. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and integrate MEP activities into the overall project schedule.
MEP System Coordination: Coordinate and align MEP activities with other construction disciplines to ensure seamless integration and efficient execution. Review design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to identify potential clashes or conflicts in MEP systems.
Resource Allocation and Management: Determine the required resources, materials, and manpower for MEP installations and activities. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly track and report project progress, identifying any deviations from the schedule and recommending corrective actions. Provide accurate and timely updates to project stakeholders, including management and clients.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEP activities and propose mitigation strategies. Work proactively to resolve issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that MEP installations adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to verify the accuracy and quality of work.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong communication and collaboration between various project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Serve as a point of contact for MEP-related inquiries and coordination efforts.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of project schedules, progress reports, and communication logs. Create detailed documentation of MEP-related decisions, changes, and approvals.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in planning and coordinating MEP systems within construction projects. Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project), and relevant industry software. Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection. Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with diverse project teams. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality. Professional certifications related to project management (PMP) and/or MEP systems are a plus. Electricians and Improvers Electrician's required to work in the Nottinghamshire area. The project is to work on enabling works, first and second fix installation, inspection, and testing on residential new build houses.
Skills & Qualifications
CSCS cards essential (Training can be provided)
Fully or part certified in Electrician
Proficient in Electrical Installations
Proficient in English

Installation of temporary lighting and 110v power Site safety Electrical preparation A general safe system of work on site
First and second fix electrical systems in new buildings
Inspect and test electrical circuits to British standard 7671.
